Meatballs
Can you think of anything more Italian than meatballs? They are a pretty good staple dinner in any Italian home. I have such fond memories of spending time in the kitchen with my grandma learning how to shape these tasty little balls.
Let's be clear though, in no house in Italy will you ever eat meatballs with pasta. We eat them as a dish, maybe with a side of salad and lots of bread to catch the sauce with.

So here is how it goes:
Ingredients:
500g mince beef
2 pork sausages
25-30g grated cheese
1 egg
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Salt to taste
400g chopped tomatoes
Cooking Method
- Mix mince, sausages, cheese, nutmeg and salt together until everything is well mixed.
- Start shaping the meatballs with your hands. They should be slightly smaller than a golf ball.
- Heath up a pan with a little olive oil and then brown the meatballs.
- Once the meatballs are browned, add the chopped tomatoes and cook on low heath for about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked all the way through.
- Serve hot.
